Where this starts

Today, answering a question about a switch means knowing where to look. Part of the answer is in a drawing, part is in a folder, and a good part of it is in someone's head. That holds up until the person is away, or until someone in the showroom is asked about a part they have no name for.

What you described is a way to stop searching. The product itself becomes the place the knowledge lives. It sits in 3D, you turn it, you point at the part you are being asked about, and the answer is right there next to it.

The people who would use it are not one audience. Sales need a sentence they can say out loud. The design office needs the reference. Assembly and quality need the tolerance. Someone in their first week needs all of it, slowly. The same screen has to work for all four.

What we would build

One viewer that goes from the whole switch down to a single contact without changing screens. You keep zooming and the plate opens up. The mechanism appears behind it, then the board inside that, then the contact inside that. Four depths, one movement, nothing to learn.

Four depths of the same object

Each depth carries its own marked points, and each point is pinned to the part it describes rather than to the product. That is what lets one entry know every plate and every collection it appears in, so a change to a part is visible to everyone who depends on it instead of being discovered later.

Selecting a point opens its text beside the object: what it is, the figures that matter, the thing you only learn from working with it, where else it turns up, and who is answerable for the entry.

Stage 01

The pilot

No charge

One product, one module, four depths.

We take one switch and its module and build all four depths in 3D from your CAD, with the marked points in place and the movement between depths working end to end.

The interface stays minimal on purpose. Enough to move between depths, pick a point and read its text. No library, no search, no accounts, no visual design pass. The 3D and the movement are the part that either works or does not, and that is the only thing this stage is meant to answer. Everything around it is ordinary web work that we know we can do.

One product, one module, one consolidated round of revisions. Your CAD and your fourteen entries need to be with us before it starts, and we schedule it against our own calendar.

We carry this one. If it does not convince you, it stops there and nothing is owed. What we get out of it is a measured figure for how long one product actually takes, which is what turns stage three from a guess into a price.

The platform

This is where the pilot becomes something your teams can actually use every day: a designed, fast application that opens in a browser, on the showroom screen or on a laptop, with nothing to install and nothing to keep in sync.

Stage 03

3D implementation

Building out the range: on your figures, 142 products, 38 modules and 611 entries. This is production work with its own rhythm, so we price it two ways and you take the one that suits how you want to work.

One artist working on nothing else, so output and invoice are both predictable. Unused hours do not carry over, and anything past 160 in a month is agreed in writing before we do it.

You add a collection at a time.

Better if you would rather move in steps than book a person. We can only put a real number on a collection once the pilot has told us how long one product takes, which is one of the reasons the pilot exists.

Worth knowing before you choose: the deeper you go, the more the work is shared. The same mechanism sits behind plates from different collections, and the contact at 4 mm is common to all of them. So the first products cost more than the ones that follow, and we would rather say that now than price 142 products as if each were the first.

Boundaries

Not included

  • Writing the technical content. We structure it and lay it out; the facts come from your side.
  • Modelling electronics that do not exist in CAD. If the inside of the module and the component level were never drawn, that is a different job and we would price it separately.
  • A second language. If entries have to exist in both French and English, each one is written and maintained twice.
  • Reading from or writing to your PLM, ERP or production software.
  • Revision rounds beyond those stated above.

Anything here can be added. We would price it and put it in writing before starting.

The pilot cannot start before these arrive, and the clock does not start before them either. We would tell you if something is late rather than absorb it quietly.

Two things we need to ask

  • Is the switch in your document an actual product, or a stand-in? If it is real, we work from its CAD and the pilot is a real page of your catalogue. If it was drawn to explain the idea, tell us which reference to use instead, because that choice changes what we can build and what you can show internally afterwards.
  • Does the same question apply to the entries? If the fourteen texts are illustrative rather than approved, we would rather know now than have the pilot argued over on the wording.

Step 3You decide. If it convinces you, stage two starts on signature.
Step 4Platform build, then the 3D implementation begins under whichever option you chose.

One thing we would rather say now than in September: the configurator has phases running to September and the same people build both. We will give you dates for the pilot once the CAD is with us, and those dates will sit behind the configurator rather than in front of it.

Risk

How we take the risk off the table

  • The pilot is on us. You see the hardest part of the idea working before any money changes hands.
  • You own the output. On full payment of stage two, the application, the entries and the 3D are yours.
  • The shared work is done once. What we build at the deeper levels for the pilot is reused by everything after it, which is why the range gets cheaper as it goes rather than more expensive.

Next step

Send the CAD for one product and its module. We will look at what is really in it and come back with what the pilot would cover and when we could run it. Nothing is committed on either side until then.

All figures exclude VAT. Currency: EUR. Services to a company established outside Serbia, VAT accounted for by the recipient under the reverse charge. Payment terms 30 days from invoice receipt. This proposal is not a contract; the terms that govern the work are the signed Master Services Agreement and the Project Brief that would follow.
